Went to 4:30PM class today. Luckily, it wasthe owner’s daughter, Jackie, and not Jane (as scheduled) who was teaching. Jackie is pretty far along in her (3rd since I’ve been attending this studio) pregnancy, but is a great teacher. As a consequence, had a good class, although I was sweating like a waterfall. In “Head-to-Knee” Pose, I felt like I was swimming under water from all the sweat! Good to be back. I really do not like, and do not see the point, for “Daylight Savings Time.”

Rushed off to yoga the latest I’ve ever left home to try to make a 4:30PM class, since I was preparing our dinner till the last minute. Got there by what I thought (and the yoga studio’s clock said) was 4:20PM. BUT, the door was locked and a sign hung on the door said: “Class in Session.” I was going to bang on the door that this had been a mistake, it’s only 4:20! Then I peeked through the blinds on the studio’s window and saw that everyone was in Tree Pose, the end of the standing series. This is about an hour (not just a few minutes) into the class. Then, it hit me: It’s Daylight Savings Time! AAAARGH!!!!
Went to 4:30 PM class, after shopping at Tierra Vegetables farm stand. Jessica taught. I liked her, she gave us some new tips on many of the poses, took plenty of time in each Savasana, and kept our motivation up. The room was way hot already at the start, but, miraculously, I managed to get through all of the poses. It was a God-send when Jessica let a bit of air into the room towards the end of the floor poses. I also liked that she did not turn on the overhead lights, since the afternoon Sun was shining so brightly through the windows and blinds. Best of all, after class, we were treated to free, cool, pineapple slices–a bonus for people who practice on the week-ends. Finally, it was not too crowded–another bonus of the week-end class, I suppose.
Went to 4:30PM class taught by Bill Butcher. The room was quite crowded, so I had to take a spot directly in front of the instructor. Got through all of the poses, but found Cobra and Rabbit poses hardest to do because of the intense heat. Could actually touch my butt to the floor in Fixed Firm Pose! This has taken many, many years! Hopefully, in a week, if I can keep puting weight on my butt in the first part of this pose, I’ll be able to start lying back in it.
Went to 4:30PM class–frightfully crowded, could not see myself at all in the mirror. Got very sweaty–too hot to do a decent Cobra Pose, I’m afraid. Taught by Jane, who started late and ended late, and did 16 Pranayama breaths 2nd set–I counted. Why does it feel like it’s getting harder, instead of easier??? Got through the class OK, although I noticed many others didn’t.

Went to 4:30PM class taught by one Jane. Jane can’t count–she does at least 15 or 16 Pranayama breathing per set instead of 10. Also, she makes us hold the poses in Awkward Pose way longer than we’re used to, so my muscles were burning. Finally, we’re not given enough of a break between the standing poses–in contrast to the Savasanas between floor poses. Nevertheless, did well today.

Went to 4:30PM class in Santa Rosa, taught by the owner, Bill Butcher. Felt fine until Toe Stand, right before which got cramps akin to menstrual cramps. Odd. So, took it easy for the rest of the standing poses. Did OK with the floor poses. Altogether, a good class.

Finally! Returned after a long hiatus to Santa Rosa Bikram Yoga. Purchased a “monthly unlimited” pass. Took the 4:30PM class taught by Jackie. It felt cooler than usual, although, in the end, I was still sweating a lot. However, I didn’t even finish my small bottle of water–a first, I think. Felt fine the whole class through, including “Camel Pose.” Yeah!!

Still feeling “under the weather,” so did not risk going today.

Didn’t go today. Still coming down with a cold. Took an easy walk after dinner w/hubby instead.
