- Brekky: Last day taking care of my friend. We had leftovers for brekky: 1 corn tortilla w/1 poached egg; mango salsa; Tazo Earl Grey tea; rice/beans
- Lunch: After acupuncture treatment for tennis elbow; drove to Ole’s and had their tapioca pudding, coffee, and “Slimline Special” = hamburger patty well done, cottage cheese w/peaches; beets, lettuce
- Dinner: At Hana Sushi in Sebastopol: bit o’ miso soup (too salty), little salad w/lettuve & fruit; edamame; 3 pieces maguro sushi; bit o’ salmon; bit o’ rice
- Snack: While watching videos @ home: home-made popcorn, fennel crostini & flatbread w/ Tillamook medium sharp cheddar; sip o’ Cointreau

Diet-20 February 2009
- Brekky: Oatmeal w/bit of soymilk & maple syrup; 2 cups Tazo Earl Grey tea; Fruit: kiwi, papaya, strawberry, apple, banana; slice honey-bran bread w/bit o’ butter + grapefruit marmalade
- Lunch: Leftover vegetable soup; small salad w/Romaine, celery, red & green bell pepper w/squeeze of lemon; 2 slices Acme Bakery Ciabatta w/bit o’ butter
- Dinner: 2 soft corn tortillas; 3-4 oz. red snapper, cabbage w/lime juice; mango salsa (jicama, mango, red & green bell pepper, red onion, cilantro w/lime juice; leftover beans; Mexican rice
- Dessert: Good Earth tea (2 cups), 3-4 oz. dark chocolate

- Lunch: Leftover vegetable soup w/salad=2 leaves Romaine, red & green bell pepper, celery w/lemon juice, salt, & pepper
- Dinner: Chicken baked w/onion; spinach sauteed w/garlic, boiled Russian fingerling potatoes
- Snacks: Tea w/fruit in PM; 1 Bellam Afrika gaufrette (20 calories), bite of Lindor truffle

Diet-18 February 2009
- Brekky: 1/2 serving hot oat bran w/bit o’ soymilk & maple syrup; 1 slice honey-bran toast w/bit o’ butter & grapefruit marmalade; Tazo Earl Grey tea (2 mugs) instead of coffee (yeah!); fruit consisting of papaya, gala apple, kiwi, & strawberry slices
- Lunch: In “the City”, so had to eat out. Went to Mel’s Diner near the Metreon. Had a veggie burger on a whole wheat roll w/grilled mushrooms & cheese; and a side salad w/onion, lettuce, tomato and lemon juice for dressing + 2 cups of tea w/honey & lemon.
- Dinner: Happily avoided eating the beef stew I had prepared the night before. Had a bowl of my leftover vegetable soup, water (not wine) to drink, and 2 tangerines for dessert.
Diet-17 February 2009
Taking care of a friend who’s recovering from surgery this week.
- Brekky: Not the greatest, just had a few bites of a slice of honey bran bread, a bit o’ grapefruit marmalade, a teensy bit of butter, and some coffee (made by friend’s hubby) w/soymilk–but, all on the run in the morning frantic rush for everyone to get out of the house.
- Lunch: 1-1/2 leftover hamburgers, with toasted small hamburger buns, a few tomato slices
- Snack: 2 gingerbread/spice cookies w/chocolate things in the middle, slice of honey-bran toast w/grapefruit marmalade, coffee w/soymilk (coffee from morning stored in friend’s hubby’s thermos from college that still works and keeps coffee hot!)
- Dinner: 2 bowls of home-made minestrone soup w/ some garlic bread. Glass of French Chardonnay. Learned from friend’s hubby that California Chardonnay has the toxic chemical, diacetyl, added to it to give it its “buttery”/”complex” flavor–same flavoring used in movie theater popcorn’s butter.
Diet-16 February 2009
- Brekky: 2 slices home-baked honey-bran bread toast w/a little butter, coffee w/home-made, fresh soymilk (made yesterday), bit o’ fruit: apples/strawberries, and, of course, home-made grapefruit marmalade.
- Lunch: It was a rainy day, I had to drive to Fiesta market and to Andy’s Natural Foods to shop for dinner, so went to Farm House for lunch, and ordered only a salad and coffee. Took my own bread, marmalade, soymilk, and 3 eggs for poaching. Had ranch dressing with the salad (lettuce, tomato and avocado slices, bits o’ cheese, dried cranberries).
- Dinner: Made a huge pot of home-made, vegetarian minestrone soup with onion, potato, carrots, celery, cauliflower, pinto beans, cabbage, home-grown pumpkin (small), zucchini, and elbow macaroni, flavored w/fresh rosemary and Italian parsley from our garden. Had 2 bowls + a bite of leftover spaghetti w/tomato sauce from last night + some sips of Forestville Sangiovese Chianti.
- After dinner snack: At my friend’s, in Berkeley, joined them for their dinner. I just nibbled: 2 asparagus spears, about 4-5 small boiled potatoes, a few sips of prosecco, a couple of bites of crackers tasting my friend’s husband’s home-made orange marmalade (made without pectin! but took 2 hours to gel!!!) and my own grapefruit marmalade.
