veganbarbie suggested I try to go without dairy for a few weeks, to see
if it lessens joint pain, and, also, to just see how I’d feel. Everything in italics
is dairy I ate today…
Here was today’s try. Because I hadn’t had time to make soymilk last
night, I wound up using non-fat, organic milk on my Scottish oatmeal
(w/ a little maple syrup), and in my coffee. I had 2 pieces of defrosted
whole wheat toast from Village Bakery with, yes butter on them, as
well as some apricot jam. Fruit was 1/2 sliced banana and 1/2 sliced apple.
Lunch was at Farm House, where I had coffee with non-dairy creamer
(probably worse than milk…), 2 slices whole wheat bread with butter (it
may have been margarine, though…) and 2 tsp. seedless blackberry jam,
iceberg lettuce salad w/ a bit of avocado and ranch dressing, and 3 poached
eggs (from our hens) with hot sauce.
A couple of pieces of pineapple after yoga. How refreshing!
Dinner was defrosted minestrone soup from Winter Pasta/Summer Pasta book, and homemade Russian rye bread (which had all of 1 tbsp. butter in it), and a small salad of lettuce, 1/2 carrot, 1 stalk celery, with Annie’s Naturals Green Goddess dressing.
Two pieces of candied ginger, and a few spoons of apple pie filling, 1/2 fresh (leftover apple) and 2 cups of Yogi lemon ginger tea finished off today’s feeding.
